Oops, kind of neglected the blog!
Joseph is now five months old!  He is such a cruisy baby, sure, we have our moments but who doesn't?  He has slept through the night nearly every night since 10 weeks old so we've been really spoilt there!  It's taken a while to get the day sleeps into some sort of routine but we are finally there.  I think I was letting him get overtired during the day, he used to do 3-5 hours between naps but now only 1.5-2 hours and he's ready to go down for a sleep.  Naps are generally either 45 minutes or 1.5 hours.

We have struggled a bit with the breastfeeding.  Joseph practically destroyed my nipples in the early days and when that came right we realised I was getting vasospasms as well which are NOT nice, it was like electric shocks and sharp knives going through my nipples at every feed and had me in tears all the time from the pain.  I eventually tried a medication that helped for a wee bit but the problem didn't really sort itself out til he was 4 months old.  I'm super proud of myself for sticking with it though, it's the one thing I really wanted to do for him as I know it will give him the best start to life and a great immune system,  so far he has been able to avoid any winter bugs, even when I got a cold!

He'd been dribbling and chewing everything from about 3 months old and 2 days before he turned 4 months he cut his two bottom middle teeth.  Apart from him chewing my nipples and being a bit grump for a couple of days before the teeth came through he didn't have any other symptoms, no red cheeks or ear aches etc. which was great!  Hoping the next ones are the same :)

He's now playing and chewing with toys, passing objects from hand to hand and almost rolling over.  Can get onto his side easily but has only rolled over twice so hasn't quite managed that one yet.  He can almost sit up unaided, just needs someone to hold his legs or back at the moment but has quite good core strength and head control.  He's smiling and giggling and getting cheeky too!

We have started giving him a bit of porridge (oatmeal) this week as he's been watching us like a hawk when we're eating and has been hungry after his feeds for a week or so.  He seems to like the porridge (mixed with a bit of breastmilk) which is good.  Hopefully he'll get used to new textures and flavours quick, though we're only planning on introducing one thing at a time every week or two. Ahhh he's growing up so quick!

He has his five month check up and immunisations tomorrow.  Hoping they won't be too bad, he's screamed pretty loudly at the previous ones but nothing a boob won't fix lol.

So that's a very quick five month catch up lol.  Joseph has lots of little friends in our coffee group and we're still meeting up every week which is nice and just met some older babies today which he thought was very interesting (they're three months older).
