25 Weeks, Whoops!

I have been so tired and lazy that I couldn't be bothered doing blog posts.  I will be 25 weeks tomorrow and feel like they are just flying by!
Still feeling incredibly tired, don't like my chances of getting my energy back now.  Next lot of blood tests are at 28 weeks but if I feel any worse before then will get iron tested sooner.

We found out at 18 weeks we are having another gorgeous wee boy :) He didn't like his picture being taken so it took 3 scans and an entire day to get all the views they needed!  Everything looks perfect though.

Have been struggling with pelvic pain for weeks now (since around 12 weeks) and have seen an osteopath, who made it worse and a physio at the hospital who gave me some good exercises and a support belt again.  The pain has changed sides this week to my left but is still just as bad as it was which is frustrating.

Baby has the hiccups a LOT and is wriggling so much now he makes my whole belly jiggle.  Nice to know he's there :)

17 Weeks Pregnant #2

Happy New Year to everyone :)  We had a good Christmas with family. Unfortunately I was unwell all of Christmas week and leading up to new years day but still managed to enjoy some good food, company and watching Joseph rip open his presents :)

As of New Years Day I have been feeling definite movements and now, only four days later they are already much stronger and more often.  It is so cool!
Baby is now roughly 12.7cm from head to bottom (not including legs) and weighs around 140g. He or she can now hear outside sounds.

We see our midwife on Tuesday and will get our scan referral which we will book for Tuesday week. So excited to find out what we are having :)

15 Weeks Pregnant #2

It's been a busy couple of weeks.  Have picked up a few extra shifts at work and it's been hectic!  Kitten season is upon us so lots of desexing surgeries for the SPCA along with our usual surgery load and appointments booking up a couple of days in advance.

Baby is still doing very well. Have checked on him/her with the doppler a couple of times and since I'm not seeing our midwife until the middle of next month it's been quite reassuring to be able to do so.
My pelvis (sacroiliac joints) is playing up again, as it did whilst pregnant with Joseph.  Thankfully I'm not working as many hours so can get off my feet a bit but running after and picking up/carrying a toddler can prove difficult at times! I ordered a Smiley Belt which arrived today, not sure if it's able to put enough pressure on the areas I need it to so will have to just try it for a few days and see how it goes.

I thought I felt my first proper 'kick' this week, but again still not sure as it hasn't happened again since.

The news is now officially out there and it's so nice to receive so many lovely comments from people.

NT Scan & Belly Shot

We had our scan this morning and all is well.  Baby's measurements are still right on target and s/he had a heart rate of 161bpm.  Baby had the hiccups and was rolling around and around when we first started but by the time the sonographer had done all the measurements and took some videos baby seemed to have gone to sleep!  We got a couple of good pics, H reckons baby looks like a wasp in the 3D ones lol.  Our midwife text me a couple of hours after the scan to say it was excellent and congrats, couldn't believe how fast she got the report!

12 Weeks

Well that's been a reasonably fast 12 weeks!  Baby is the size of a large plum :)
The nausea has lessened to the point where I don't need to take anything for it now.  My appetite still isn't 100% as I still get seedy in the afternoon/evening but it is nice to finally feel much better!
Our midwife visited this week and was here for two hours!  She is so lovely and chatty.  She tried to find the baby's heartbeat with her doppler but couldn't as baby was far too wriggly and squirming away.  Hearing all that movement was pretty neat though!
I have since found baby's heartbeat with my home doppler which has been very exciting and reassuring, s/he is still right down in my pelvis and likes to hide.  Midwife filled out our scan and lab forms for our 12 week combined screening and we are booked in on Tuesday morning for that, getting quite excited about seeing baby again now!
I have been feeling little movements since about 10.5 weeks and pretty much confirmed with the doppler where they were, on my left side.  It think this one is going to play soccer with my bladder later lol.

Joseph Update ~ Growing Up!

In three months we will have a two year old, how crazy is that!  Time flies when you're having fun :)

The rate at which Joseph is growing and learning is incredible.  He's learning new words all the time and is a right parrot and show-off!

He had his first night with the side off the cot last night after trialling it for two weeks at nap times.  He did super well, fell out twice before 10pm but put himself back to bed and slept all the way through.  Hoping this means we won't have to buy a second cot :)

I have started working one day a week, vet nursing again and Joseph has started at daycare (1.5 days a week).  He is LOVING it, though hates being dropped off.  He loves playing outside in the sandpit and climbing all the outdoor equipment, he is also apparently a bit of a clown and show-off!

Back in August I took Joseph to see a specialist after 9+ months of disgusting, abnormal/diarrhoea stools.  He had some skin prick allergy testing done which showed a moderate reaction to egg and cat fur as well as a slight reaction to peanuts and dust mites.  The specialist was more concerned of a gluten sensitivity.  Blood tests revealed he does indeed have an intolerance to gluten with an IgG of 68 (normal is less than 10).  So he has been on a totally gluten-free diet since as well as some medication to help with reflux which the doctor thought could also be a problem.  We noticed a huge difference within four days in both his mood and his bowel motions but then since starting daycare he has come down with illness after illness and seems to have regressed a bit.  We have a follow-up appointment on the 5th of December where I hope we will do a repeat blood test to see what sort of a difference the diet has made.  I will have to talk about weaning off the medication as I have tried but it causes him to have sick burps (which he didn't have before going on the meds), I'm thinking the new diet should well and truly have any reflux issues under control by now.

Joseph's favourite things at the moment are (in no particular order):  Mickey Mouse, Charley Bear, Peppa Pig, apples, bananas, beans (baked beans/chili beans), dancing, music, drawing, saying please over and over without giving a clue what he wants, Mummy, Daddy, cheese.

XMAS Surprise?

Not sure I'll be able to blame the tummy on too many pies for very long, starting to change shape lol our intention is to announce the pregnancy on Christmas Day but with still 5 weeks to go we may be answered with a few "ohhh we did wonder" comments lol.

Have been feeling a bit down this past week and I guess putting up walls to protect myself from further heartache if things go wrong again.  It is hard to remain positive after having had such bad luck this year and with having prolonged spotting on and off throughout this pregnancy it is a constant worry.  I have been counseled though and realise that no matter how many walls I put up to protect myself I would still be devastated if something went wrong and it is a waste of energy when I should be putting that energy into feeling positive and enjoying this precious wee bubba as much as it deserves!  It has already beaten the odds to be here (ovulated from the side with no tube) and we've seen a gorgeous wee heart beat so our chances for a healthy outcome are already a lot higher.

Farmers are having a 50% off childrenswear sale tomorrow and now that J is over his virus he can go back to daycare so my intention is to go shopping!  He needs some new t-shirts and I may even get some winter singlets for the new bub as it will be a lot colder in June than when Joseph was born!
