Our First and Hopefully ONLY Scare

Let me start off by saying everything is OK!

I woke up this morning to bloody sheets and nearly died when I saw it.  I have to admit I did a mini freak-out, woke up Hamish and decided to call the midwife.  Felt really bad for calling her at 6:45am but didn't know what else to do and didn't really want to rush to A&E if not necessary.
She recommended we book in an urgent scan today to check that everything is OK.  I had to wait til 8:30am to book the appointment and since I went to work anyway I made it for after work at 2:30.
All I can say is Reflect Ultrasound are fantastic.  The lady was so nice and caring and the first thing she did was locate the heartbeat to show us all was well with bubs, sure enough it was chugging away nice and healthily.  Baby was waving its hands, outstretched in front and had its little feet crossed neatly at the ankles :)
After having a good look at baby and everything else it all looks good, just that part of the placenta is covering my cervix and there was a slight hemorrhage just above it.  She said the placenta starts to move up about now and out of the way of the cervix so might have another little bleed but not much more.  Just to let the midwife know.
So a bit of a stressy morning, though was able to keep myself thinking positive since I had no pain/cramps.
Did get another profile pic of baby and some more should be emailed later, but will have better ones from our anatomy scan in a couple of weeks!

  1. I'm so pleased that you and baby are fine!

So you're going to find out if you're having a 'blue' or a 'pink' boobirri at your next scan?
