39 Weeks

Fatty boom boom

Phew, one week to go, literally counting the days now!  That is of course if he's on time!  Really hoping he comes on his due date as it's a really cool date :) 11-02-11 or 11-02-2011, love it.

Saw the midwife on Tuesday and I had managed to get baby McB to switch to my left side, however I woke up on Wednesday and he was back on my right!  It must just be more comfy there for him.  He still wasn't engaged but is still head down, it's just floating a little.  Last night he switched to posterior and had his tiny feet sticking out my belly and I could actually feel the shape of them and his leg under my skin, it was very bizarre!  Today I think he's back on my right and back to sticking his bum out!

He's been rolling around on my nerves today when I've been walking around which makes for interesting and very slow shopping trips.

The midwife is quite happy with how things are going.  I just have to spend a bit of time on my hands and knees and sit forwards to encourage baby into the right position which I think is impossible as he has been SO active this week and seems to change position at the drop of a hat.  But I have been trying and it hasn't been comfortable!

Had a quick tour around the birthing unit at ChCh Women's last night.  Was quite surprised how massive the rooms are and the HUGE bed splat in the middle lol...don't plan on being up on that much but we shall see what happens :)  It all seems very clean and well organised.

Mum arrived yesterday morning and is here for a couple of weeks, so hopefully Baby McB obliges and arrives before she goes home!   She also brought with her a huge stack of prezzies for our lucky wee boy!  Wow, they just keep coming!  So many useful things that we hadn't thought about too, thanks Mum!  The coolest prezzie has to be the wee baby room diorama Mum spent hours hand crafting and putting together with the help from Poppa Mike who detailed the exterior.  The detail is incredible and mostly hand made right from scratch!  It came with a special wee letter explaining the whole thing and little treasure hunts for Baby McB to do when he's older :)  Here's a few pics.  You can view the making of the project here.
